The red blend 2017 Sapo de Otro Pozo is 60% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Syrah from Los Chacayes and El Manzano in the Valle de Uco, with half of the wine aged in new and second use French barriques. 2017 is a slightly riper year, but the oak feels very integrated, with a harmonious mixture of berries, herbs and spices. The palate is sharp and the tannins are fine with good acidity and a serious, dry finish. 13,000 bottles were filled in November 2018.

A dark, firm Argentine red, this takes the generous plumminess of malbec and firms it up with syrah and cabernet franc. The blend, based on fruit from Mendoza’s higher altitudes and vinified in cement eggs and Bordeaux barrels, feels finely tailored, with floral and mineral notes adding detail.
