Founded in 1731, the venerable house of Bouchard Pere & Fils manages 300 acres of vineyards of which 100 acres are classified as 1er Cru with 30 acres classified as Grand Cru. Among all these vineyard holdings there are as many as 70 wines produced. Bernard Bouchard purchased the Château de Beaune in 1820, a former royal fortress constructed in the 15th century by King Louis XI. Bouchard's expansive, deep cellars sit below. Beaune du Chateau is a blend of 17 different Beaune Premier Cru sites (recall a third of Bouchard’s holding are 1er Cru!) which includes sought after vineyards such as Bressandes, Cent Vignes, Clos du Roi , Greves, and Toussaints. Quintessentially Beaune, this is an exceptional value from one of Burgundy's most historical producers. Bouchard delivered an incredible performance in 2017.

Part of the Bouchard range since 1907, this wine features 17 of the extensive lineup of Beaune premiers crus, grown on a mixture of soil types. Part of Frédéric Weber's skill lies in the blending of all these different cuvées to produce a wine that's textured, floral and sweet, with subtle reduction, some whole-bunch spice and a backdrop of 35% new wood.

Peaches on the nose with an edge of spiced toffee. The palate has a very plush and fleshy feel with plenty of fruit delivered into the finish. Drink now.
