I recently found out about this company and I am glad I did. I was very pleased with the first order and particularly how well it was packaged. I made a second order only a couple days later. Their shipping fee was also very reasonable. My net delivered price was actually less than my cost to purchase the same product in my local store. I will use them again.

Readers of these pages may know, I established a direct relationship with Domaine Pierre Usseglio a few years back, and you have been benefiting from a particularly sweet deal on the estate's 2007s and 2010s. Just today, as I've been anxiously awaiting, my offer on the 2016s arrived (offer, not the wine!). Having an inside edge, keenly aware of the amazingly successful vintage enjoyed by my friends Chez P. Usseglio, I immediately secured this selection for you based on our purchases of 2015s – a good amount!

Getting more than one exclamation in the notes, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de Mon Aïeul is a deep, rich yet vibrant red that offers a kaleidoscope of kirsch liqueur, garrigue, crushed flowers, Asian spices, and cured meats. It's more opulent and sexier than the 2010, fresher and purer than the 2007, has deep, full-bodied aromas and flavors, and a huge finish. It's a sensational, heavenly Châteauneuf-du-Pape that tops out my scale. This cuvée is 100% Grenache that was not destemmed and was aged in 20% demi-muids and the balance in concrete tanks.
