Located on top of a scenic Radda in Chianti hillside with spectacular Tuscan vineyard views, the 16th century Caparsa Estate boasts 12 hectares of organically farmed vines and restored centuries' old buildings that serve as both home and winery, managed by the energetic Paolo Cianferoni and his partner Gianna since 1982. Working over 50 harvests at his family's estate since the age of seven, Paolo Cianferoni is a hands-on winemaker, overseeing Caparsa's rise in quality from very good to spectacular over the last decades and selling out most of its small, critically acclaimed production locally. Sourced from the Doccio a Matteo vineyard at 450-575 meters above sea level, the estate's top Sangiovese vines average 60 years of age, planted on a northeast aspect away from the brutally hot summer sun in rocky galestro schist with chalky albarese.
