The 2016 Red Blend Rhu is a Syrah blended with 4% Petite Sirah and 3% Garnacha from Alcohuaz, Elqui, fermented in stone lagares and aged for 35 months in foudres. Bright purple in the glass. The nose offers flesh, wet stone and gunpowder plus thyme and blueberries over a hint of pepper that opens up the overall profile. Intense and precise on the palate with a fresh flow and silky texture; the flavors linger at leisure at the back of the mouth. A jewel from oenologist Marcelo Retamal.
