A 67/33% blend fermented separately, 8 days on skins, blended before maturation in used oak. Has retained bright, youthful colour; the wine has freshness, and ample plum and red fruits sustained by fine tannins. For the record, both varieties come from 84yo vines.

Pale to medium garnet colored, the 2013 Avignon Proprietary Red (a blend of 67% Grenache and 33% Mourvèdre) has a black cherry and black raspberry laced nose with cinnamon stick, vanilla and Sichuan pepper hints. Big, rig, full-bodied and expressive in the mouth, it coats the palate with kirsch and velvety tannins, finishing with great length.
