Warre Otima 10yr Tawny Port (500ml)
From Portugal

93WA 91WS 91W&S

The non-vintage Otima 10-Year Old Tawny Port reveals a medium ruby/amber/garnet color, loads of kirsch and cedar intermixed with a touch of brown sugar in the nose, rich, full-bodied flavors, a burgeoning complexity and big aromatics. This is a full-bodied, silky smooth Tawny Port that should age easily for 8-10+ years.

93 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Issue # 211 - Feb 2014)

Well-honed, with a touch of sweetness to the plush flavors of butterscotch, pear tart, almond and vanilla. Orange peel and dried ginger accents emerge on the seductively spicy finish. Drink now. 8,500 cases imported.

91 points, Wine Spectator (Sep 2015)

Light amber-tawny in color, this wine is delicately balanced between freshness and age. There’s brisk, tart peach flavor along with more mature tones of pale berries and woodsy mushrooms. Hints of tobacco smoke add to the wine’s elegance.

2010 Chateau Beaucastel Hommage a Jacques Perrin (1.5L)
Mourvedre from Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône, France

Tight, dense and backward, the 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Hommage À Jacques Perrin was one of the least approachable wines in the lineup, yet certainly has incredible potential. Offering lots of liquid minerality, crushed rock, blueberry, truffle and cassis, it’s massive and concentrated on the palate, with building tannin, good acidity and a firm, focused feel that begs for cellaring. Hide these in the cellar for another decade.

2018 Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino (750ml)
Sangiovese from Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy

Five decades of glorious Brunello bottlings have firmly secured Caparzo's place among the elite of producers in Montalcino. Consistency across multiple vintages – seemingly no matter the conditions – has made Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini a household name for lovers of outstanding Sangiovese, not to forget her Rosso di Montalcino! Caparzo's unrelenting consistency is no doubt due in great part to Elisabetta's commitment, coupled with winemaker Massimo Bracalente's decades of tenure with the estate's multiple terroirs. But there's no questioning the most important aspect of the Caparzo estate, which attracts collectors even more fervently in top vintages. The finest Rosso yet from Elisabetta as she goes from strength to strength. Serious Tuscan bargain, and among the very best Rosso di Montacino of the vintage.

Lively red color. Exceptionally perfumed nose reminds of red fruits, menthol, coffee and fresh herbs. Dense and fresh with flavors closely echoing the aromas. Boasts outstanding acid-fruit-tannin balance and a silky-sweet mouthfeel; I tasted two different bottles just to be sure, and based at least on what I tasted, this Rosso is a real knockout, in fact one of the very best from the 2018 vintage.
