Herbal and grassy hop with a light honey and doughy graininess to match. Alcohol is there, clean yet a touch of solvent. Long lingering hop flavour with a drying grain to boot. Deeply lined crispness, real nice on the tongue as it rolls off with a smooth dry moderate body. Very refreshing as I could put down more than just a couple. Simple and clean with a kick of hops and slight slap of alcohol. This one brings back memories and I am glad they are making an other push into the US market as this puts other mass produced Euro-lagers to shame.

This straightforward pale straw brew fills the nose with a bready malt aroma-simple, subtle and right on style. Slightly sweet bready flavors lull across the tongue, followed by a shot of piercing grains that race to the back of the mouth. Refreshingly wet, Birra Moretti is just what the style suggests: thirst quenching and deliciously modest. As the beer washes back, a gentle hop bitterness flexes ever so slightly to dry out the subtle sweetness. Balanced and light, this brew finishes clean with a quiet bitter tang at the end.

Most Americans think Negra Modelo is simply a heavier Mexican beer; they don't realize that this beer largely defined the Vienna lager style for many years before craft brewers in the States honed in on it. Negra, as it is commonly known, is the best-selling "dark beer" in Mexico. In reality, it isn't terribly dark, but it does have a distinct amber coloring and a creamy, light tan head. Its aroma consists mosetly of sweeter, dark malt scents with just a hint of fruit coming through. Candy flavors and a slight toastiness are most prevalent in the mouth of this brew. There are some adjunct flavors which detract slightly, but its smooth character is pleasant, making this a fine Mexican lager.

Perky white lace and a good golden clarity, clean aroma with a whiff of hops and sweet malt. Superb crispness with a dry malt character that brings a bready flavour to the palate, clean in the mouth with a quick snappy bite of hops that linger into the after taste. One of my favourite Euro lagers.

The beer's soft, white head releases an enticing aroma of sweet grains and crackers; it smells just like a brewhouse in action. Like the aroma, Premium Lager's fresh bread and grains braid rich malt notes across the tongue. Prickly carbonation follows in their wake, keeping the beer light while floral hops blossom in the back. Beautifully simplistic and extremely quaffable, this helles embodies what a lager is all about.

Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen is so popular at each year's Oktoberfest, it could easily be named the homecoming king. An earthy, slightly sweet, caramelized aroma starts this beer off in spectactular fashion. The excellent grain and biscuit-like malt profile give a smooth yet complex taste, and the low (but noticeable) hop flavor is well balanced. Numerous intangible qualities make Paulaner a top-notch Oktoberfest... and just one more reason to book that ticket to Munich.
