New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale 6pk
American Amber / Red Ale from Fort Collins, Colorado

88WE

As one of the first beers to achieve a cult-like status in the American craft-beer scene, Fat Tire is a little infamous. Overall, this is a well-made and impeccably balanced beer, albeit a bit straightforward. The malt leads the nose and palate, with forward biscuit, toasted grain and roasted nut notes throughout. It's medium bodied, with a touch of an earthy hop flavor to add structure and some tannic grip to the palate and finish.

New Belgium Trippel Belgian Style Ale 6pk (200ml)
Tripel from Colorado

92BA

Peaches and roses - very aromatic, phenols and a melon like fruitiness round out the aroma as well. Super crisp with a yeast palate right from the get go, not overwhelming but it is there. Light maltiness of doughy biscuits and harsh husk. Some busy phenols throw down a mix of herbal and medicinal magic with a touch of hop bitterness to boot. Vaguely fruity; starch plantains and faint peach. A breath of alcohol in the finish. The bitterness lingers for a good while into the after taste. Very refreshing with the 8.5% abv being slightly hidden, quite the palate cleanser. Cabot has this Parmesan Cheddar blend, a perfect match with some mini rye bread. If you are into Trippels this is a must try, IMO this is a good stepping stone to jump into the vast world of Belgian Beer.

Bell's Amber Ale 6pk
American Amber / Red Ale from Kalamazoo, Michigan

97BA

Malty sweet with overtones of fresh toasted grain and a subtle flowery oily hop holding a citric nose. Well formed malt sweetness within the medium body, moderate crispness from the carbonation. Faint buttery diacetyl, toffee and toasted malt make for the base of this brew, a tamed yet multi-layered hop runs through a pungent bitterness, an oily flower and a citric flavour towards the end. After taste lingers long and hard with more toasted and citric flavours. This is an awesome example of the American Amber Ale Style, robust and very flavourful yet still not a problem having a few or even making it a session beer. Right up there with Full Sail or Anderson Valley in greatness in this style.

Bell's Two Hearted Ale 6pk
American IPA from Kalamazoo, Michigan

95DM

Pouring a sparklingly clear orange hue with a fleeting white head, Two Hearted Ale captivates with its juicy, hop-centric aroma: Fresh orange and apricot scents blend with grassy notes while light bready scents soften the bouquet. Toasted grains build a solid base on the tongue as vibrant hops emerge. Orange and lemon rind bounce over the tongue, with tropical pineapple notes peeking out in the middle. Toasted malts hold ground before smooth bitterness cleans the mouth without assaulting the taste buds. Balanced from start to finish, this IPA gives a prism of hop flavor without the aggressive hop bite.

Blue Moon Belgian White 6pk Bottles
Witbier from Golden, Colorado

89WE 87DM

Hazy apricot color; pours with a significant head that subsides fast and leaves no lacing. Prominent orange aromas with hints of coriander and cardamom. Medium-full in the mouth with orange rind backed by hints of banana, brioche and subtle hops. Good carbonation and strong malt flavoring; somewhat sweeter than typical, but very satisfying.

89 points, Wine Enthusiast (Aug 2009)

Coors isn't the only brewery to add oats to its witbier, but the resulting understated taste has made Blue Moon one of the most popular wits in America. With the addition of wheat, this beer emits a soft, pleasant mouthfeel. It also has very minor spiciness and citrus flavors, which are muted compared to most witbiers. For those new to this style, Blue Moon is a great introduction. The entire experience of this brew is well-rounded from flavor to mouthfeel, and the carbonation is as close to perfect as you can get.

Soft breadiness supports an intense tropical bouquet of orange, tangerine, melon and a touch of pine. Likewise, the bright, playful swallow sends a fresh, fruity blend of grapefruit, peach, melon and tangerine across the tongue, backed by light grainy bread notes. Gentle bitterness cleans up the swallow, resulting in a smooth finish that caps off the incredibly delicious sip.

97 points, Draft Magazine

This ale puts its foot on the border of IPA and Impy IPA, a blurring of the lines. Clear copper hue, impressive lacing but coming from a highly hopped beer ... not a surprise. Big hop stink, heavy citric of ruby red grapefruit and tangerines ... faintly catty with some taffy undertones. Hops smack down hard, though some caramel and biscuity flavors from the malt appear; aside from that, it is a full-on palate bashing of citric, earthy pine, tobacco and wild herbs with a tropical fruitiness to compliment. Seriously epic beer, we can only hope a pint of it is waiting for us at the gates of hop heaven.
