Coming from the oldest block on the estate and vines planted in the 1930s, the 2021 Viña Gena Viñedo Singular is 100% Tempranillo. It's another remarkably pure, clean, impressive wine from this estate with tons to love. Cassis, blackberries, graphite, classy oak, and spring flower notes all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, supple mouthfeel, building tannins, and a great finish. It needs 3-5 years of bottle age, but it's gorgeous stuff. It's not as complex as the flagship, yet possibly has better tannins.

Fine nose of roasted spices, blue plums, crushed blueberries and cocoa powder with a touch of violets. Dusty tannins on the medium-bodied palate, with a medium body and a layered, lengthy finish. Nuanced and rather more delicate than powerful. Really enjoyable now, but can hold well.
