The 2018 Gamlitz Sauvignon Blanc is from seven- to 25-year-old vines on sandy and gravelly soils and opens with a distinctive, deep, ripe, pure and concentrated, very spicy and intensely floral-scented bouquet of cherry blossoms and ripe stone fruits mixed with flinty-stony notes. On the palate, this is a generous, very intense, elegant, pure and salty Sauvignon with an excitingly long and aromatic as well as pure and crystalline finish with fine tannins and long-lasting fruit. This is a spectacular Sauvignon that has been selected from Kathi's grandpa's massal selections and aged on the full lees until February this year. This is a spectacular, intense and structured wine for 15 euros ex-cellar that goes far beyond Sauvignon! Tasted in May 2019.
