A dense, black wine with dark tannins, this is a powerful example of ripe Merlot. Its concentration and firmness will allow the wine to age well.

Plenty of dark-berry and chocolate character here to the medium-to full-bodied palate with ripe tannins and a flavorful finish.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 La Croix de Gay bursts into the room with rambunctious baked blueberries, Morello cherries, stewed plums and cedar chest scents plus hints of grilled meats, bay leaves, tar and fragrant soil. The full-bodied palate is generously fruited with herb sparks and black and blue fruit preserves, framed by velvety tannins, finishing long and earthy.
