Deep, bright ruby. Pure scents of red- and blackcurrant, wild herbs, black olive and chocolate. Less thick in the middle palate than the Reserva Malbec, thanks to a firmer impression of acidity and juicy, saline minerality. Tangy black raspberry fruit carries through a lingering finish featuring fine, dusty tannins and subtle building sweetness. Zuccardi uses a bit more oak here than with the Malbec, "for oxygenation," but added that "we are looking for the juicy part of Cabernet." He noted that this wine typically shows herbal and olive notes but not bell pepper. "With our sun exposure, we shouldn't have pyrazines," he explained. A terrific value in Cabernet.
