Ca' dei Frati was founded in 1939 when patriarch Felice Dal Cero settled on the Lombardy side of the Lugana appellation at the south end Lake Garda not far from Verona. It's called "Ca' dei Frati," or "friar house," because it was once owned by monks who grew grapes here. Morainic soils deposited by the melting glacier that became Lake Garda are the magic at Ca' dei Frati expressing rich, viscous ample fruit that has concentration and aromatic profile of white flowers, ripe lemons and apricots with good acidity with an elegant, rich finish. The combination of rich fruit flavors with density and perfumed aromatics with just enough acidity to maintain balance all the way to the finish. A serious Italian white bargain that is too easy to drink.

Pale straw yellow. Lively aromas of yellow apple, pear, apricot and soft herbs, lifted by a floral element. Clean, nicely delineated and piercing but boasts a round texture in spite of its noteworthy acidity. Finishes long, with subtle grapefruit, sage and pear flavors persist on the perfumed, gentle aftertaste.

Aromas of exotic fruit, white spring flower, citrus and a whiff of tomato vine lift out of the glass. Vibrant and linear, the savory palate doles out juicy grapefruit, spiced apricot and a hint of pineapple alongside crisp acidity.
