The 2017 Primus The Blend is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Carménère, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 5% Syrah, and 5% Cabernet Franc from Apalta, Colchagua Valley, aged for 12 months in French foudres and barrels. Garnet red in the glass with an orange shimmer. The layered nose features kirsch, dry plums, blackberry and oak. Full-bodied in the mouth, where the heightened alcohol brings out the ripe flavors. An effective, oxidative style with a ripe finish.
