This is a very dense chardonnay in the center palate with a brightness and minerality and dried apple and pear character. Hints of pie crust. Full body, focused with drive at the end. Drink now or hold.

The 2017 Q Chardonnay was produced with grapes from Valle de Uco. The full clusters were pressed, and the cloudy must fermented 50/50 in concrete vats and well-seasoned 500-liter oak barrels. They started changing the style and fermentation vessels in 2013 and had fully implemented it all in 2015, and there haven't been any big changes since then. 2017 was a warmer vintage than 2016 and 2015, but the wine has 13.5% alcohol and seven grams of acidity. They kept the wine with the full lees in the same fermentation vessels. It's varietal and fresh, with smoky and spicy aromas from the fermentation and the lees, but it has a light and refreshing palate, not heavy at all, with acidity that cleanses the palate. It was bottled in December 2017, a little earlier than before, trying to keep the freshness and capturing the subtleness rather than the exuberance. 40,000 bottles produced.

Complex, slightly wild aromas and flavors of white peach, pear, citrus fruits, flowers, minerals and subtle wild herbs. Offers lovely depth and stony calcaire energy. Finishes classically dry and stony, with captivating salinity.
