Bright deep red. Perfumed aromas of violet, cinnamon and red berries. Then rich, dense and suave but with lively acidity lifting the inner-mouth perfume of the red berry and red cherry flavor. Finishes long and floral. Lovely Cerasuolo di Vittoria with sneaky concentration and real refinement.

A hot, dry 2017 summer required some emergency irrigation in Donnafugata’s Vittoria vineyards. They began harvest ten days earlier than usual and lost about ten percent of the crop, but the grapes that remained produced a delicious red packed with flavors of juicy plum, raspberry and rhubarb. Cool acidity freshens the flavors and draws them out on a long, harmonious finish.

Vivid fruit here with crushed strawberries, cherries and lemons, following through to a medium body, firm but light tannins and a crisp finish. Drink now.

The pretty 2017 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Floramundi is a blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato that shows a tight, luminous and snappy personality. This is a red wine to drink with snapper or shellfish. It opens to a medium ruby color and lean consistency with wild berry aromas, blueberry, wild rose and a playful touch of bitter almond. Some 89,000 bottles were made.

Aromas of red berry and culinary spice are front and center on this Nero d'Avola and Frappato blend. The smooth, juicy palate doles out crushed raspberry, mature black cherry, blackberry and white pepper alongside lithe tannins. Enjoy through 2022.
