Known in some markets as the Cairanne Vieilles Vignes, this cuvée is labeled simply Cairanne in others. The 2017 Cairanne—a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Carignan—boasts lovely complexity and texture, blending notes of cherries, raspberries, cola and spice into a silky, concentrated wine. It's medium to full-bodied, with a long, softly tannic finish.

Moving to the reds, the 2017 Cairanne Cuvée Vieilles Vignes checks in as big, rich blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Carignan brought up in concrete tanks. It has classic notes of red and black fruits, ground pepper, graphite, and Asian spices as well as a great mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a good mix of richness and elegance.
