The modern Crianza 2016 Finca San Martín shows the freshness and elegance of the harvest, with some initial lactic notes that blow off with a little bit of time in the glass, giving way to red berries and spices that are nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied, very silky and harmonious, with fine tannins, and it's nicely balanced and has a clean, refreshing finish. There are some toast and creamy notes that should integrate with a little more time in bottle. A very good clean and modern commercial Rioja that should please a wide audience. 180,000 bottles.

This is a muscular red with dark-berry and cherry-skin character. Medium to full body, tight tannins and a fresh finish with a hint of bitterness. Drink or hold.

Black cherry, licorice, forest floor and smoky flavors mingle in this round red. Light, firm tannins and brisk acidity give this focus. Should bloom with time. Drink now through 2030. 15,000 cases made.
