A fresh and fine-tannined red with blackberry and chocolate character. Medium body and a delicious finish. Hints of chocolate, fresh tea and stone undertones. Attractive length and austerity. Drink or hold.

The young, fruit-driven and straightforward 2016 Winemaker Series is a pure Malbec from different vineyards in the Valle de Uco, with 60% of the volume matured in second use French barriques for 12 months. It has moderate alcohol and acidity. It's very floral and fruit-driven, aromatic and fresh. It combines the freshness from the year and the chalky tannins from the place. Very tasty. 30,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2017.
