This estate became a Gigondas point-of-reference for me some forty years ago, the 1978 in particular. Got to the estate not long after, meeting the Georges Faraud and son Michel, who back then represented a 150 year family legacy of winemakers, making just one wine. Tasting the 2016 recently recalled those days. Knowing well what the estate is capable of, and recalling what Parker wrote about Cayron, "Faraud’s wines are the richest, most exotic, and often the most dramatic of the appellation."
