From 55-year-old vines in Avenay Val d'Or, Dhondt's 2015 Extra-Brut Premier Cru Le Mont de Fer Rosé was disgorged in December 2019 with three grams per liter dosage. Produced from foot-trodden Pinot Noir, the wine offers aromas of red berries, orange rind and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, vinous palate that's seamless and integrated, with a youthfully frothy mousse and elegant phenolic grip. Generous and demonstrative, I suspect it will show at its best comparatively young.
