The 2015 Chardonnay Sigrid conjures notions of peaches, pink grapefruit and green guava with hints of toasted almonds, chalk dust, coriander seed and baker's yeast. Medium-bodied with a racy backbone cutting through the silken texture, it delivers a wonderful intensity of citrus, tropical and savory flavors, finishing long and layered.

Sigrid is Josh Bergström’s barrel selection of lots from five biodynamically farmed estate vineyards, and it’s his most dramatic white wine. In 2015 this chardonnay’s shades of fruit and savor, its layers and textural breadth are on display, all of it propelled by an edgy, acid-driven freshness. Initially, the lees and reduction will take you in a savory direction, but with air the wine appears to fill with autumnal light. The flavors of ripe apple, golden pear and mineral lees become fuller and more focused, interwoven in what seems like an intricate, dramatic and, frankly, gorgeous pattern.

The full-treatment chardonnay with tons of cloves, vanilla and spices but so much fruit in the form of ripe peaches, papaya, citrus rind, preserved lemons and whipped cream. Full-bodied with so much dense yet tangy tropical fruit in the form of pineapple and guava flavors. Sweeping acidity and a long, intense finish. Not for the faint of heart, but boy does this pack a punch. Drink from 2019.

This succulent wine is saturated with rich citrus flavors. Grapefruit, lemon, lime and pineapple notes combine while its 18 months in barrel contributes a layer of buttery toast.

The 2015 Chardonnay Luminus is terrific in this vintage. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint and white pepper are front and center. The decision to partially block the malolactic fermentation results in a Chardonnay endowed with striking nuance and energy. All the elements fall into place effortlessly.
