The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet didn't quite seem to match the complexity of the Truffières when I tasted it at the domaine. It is nicely detailed but at least at the moment, has not developed the personality. The palate is fresh and detailed, and here it compensates for the aromatics with lovely white peach and fresh pear notes, gradually fanning out with a long and saline finish, as well as a particularly extended aftertaste. This has great potential.

Pale, bright yellow. Deep, leesy aromas of pear and yellow stone fruits show less floral lift and minerality than the higher-altitude Truffière and Folatière. Rounder and fatter in texture, showing less precision but plenty of acidity. A bit sullen and hard to taste today, finishing with a slightly dusty citric quality and a lightly tannic impression.
