The cooler and very good year for the variety (no rain, easy harvest) produced a 2013 El Enemigo Bonarda that has contained ripeness and a more austere and elegant profile than the 2014. These characteristics are coupled with a perfumed mix of white flowers and violets, very elegant and a little unusual for the variety. 25,000 bottles produced.

Bright, medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry and herbs, plus a captivating element of crystallized fruits. Wonderfully sweet but firm, conveying a slightly medicinal character to its musky dark fruit flavors. Still a touch reduced, but this is downright elegant for Bonarda. Finishes with strong, ripe tannins and excellent lift and length.

A ripe red, with powerful flavors of blackberry, dark plum and dark currant, lathered with notes of dark chocolate. The creamy finish is long and rich. Drink now through 2020. 200 cases imported.
