The 2012 Pouilly-Fume Les Porcheronnes is a blend of several sites scattered on the hilltop of Les Loges, specifically La Cote, and Les Griottes. These are some of the younger vines of the estate averaging 20 years of age. Combined, this is a two-hectare site on clay-limestone soil which bears this brilliant straw-colored (with greenish shades) Sancerre that is clear and intense on the nose, displaying a good ripeness of fresh white and yellow fruit flavors and limes. It’s is a quite rich, intense, powerful and firmly structured, very grippy Sancerre with a fully ripe yet piquant and zesty fruit texture and a very good length, with limes, cumquats and crushed rocks. More full-bodied and generous than the Vignes de Berges, but less on the knife’s edge.
