The 2012 Bourgogne Rouge comes from three parcels located on the lower inclines of the Volnay slope, averaging around 35-year in age. It has a fresh and vibrant bouquet for a generic red: lively brambly red berry fruit that is less austere than its peers. The palate is medium- bodied with tart red cherries on the entry, chalky tannins and a compact, quite dense finish. This constitutes well-made Bourgogne Rouge – delightful in its simplicity.
