The San Fereolo 2011 Dogliani Superiore San Fereolo gives us a rare glimpse at aged Dolcetto, a grape that is usually consumed when its primary fruit is brightest. This expression from the hot 2011 vintage offers inky black fruit with prune, sun-dried blackberry and candied figs. The character of the wine leans heavily toward the dark, robust and thickly concentrated side of the spectrum. But the results show more balance than you might expect, because the ripeness goes far but not too far. It shows evolved and slightly oxidative aromas from its age, and I wouldn't suggest that you keep it any longer.
