Deceptively medium in body, the 2010 Campaccio is laced with dark red cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and dried herbs. The 2010 should drink well with minimal cellaring, but it also has more than enough energy to drink well for a number of years. Although pretty and delicate in style, the 2010 needs a bit of air to open up. Campaccio is 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2010 Campaccio sees fruit (Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon) sourced from the Radda in Chianti sub zone. This is a forceful and opulent red wine with prune juice, dried blackberry and cherry liqueur in leading roles. Dig deeper and you will encounter distant notes of button mushroom, dried herb and exotic spice. Campaccio is a layered and slightly overdone red wine, especially in terms of its jammy and sun-drenched style.
