2009 Moet & Chandon Brut Rose Grand Vintage (750ml)

Pinot Noir from Champagne, France

94WS
93V
92WE

A firm, tightly meshed rosé Champagne, with a powerful frame of smoky mineral and acidity swathed in a fine range of wild strawberry, whole-grain toast, kumquat and exotic spice notes that linger on the racy finish. Disgorged February 2017. Drink now through 2030.

94 points, Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator (Jun 2018)

Interestingly, the 2009 Extra Brut Grand Vintage Rosé is quite a bit tighter and pointed than the Blanc. Here, it is the wine’s energy and tension that stand out most. It will be interesting to see if the 2009 gains a bit more volume over time. Even today, though, the 2009 is beautifully resonant and expressive, with striking vinous intensity driving through to the finish. Hints of orange peel, mint, chalk and blood orange add shades of character.

93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous (Mar 2018)

While initially soft, this wine then develops a crisper side that comes from the red-currant flavors. It also has some toasty touches and hints of maturity. Taken together, these elements have produced a rich wine, ripe and ready to drink.
