Deep purple-crimson; a beautifully crafted and balanced wine of the kind that only comes from a single vineyard planted in 1912, the grapes open-fermented and hand-plunged before spending two and a half years in 50% new French oak barriques. Simple really. 320 dozen made.

This vineyard was planted during Roosevelt’s second term... Teddy, that is. Planted on broken schist in the cooler Eden Valley. More balance and poise compared to a Barossa shiraz, towards elegance. Excellent. I defend Australia.
