The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus opens with knockout aromas of smoke and minerals. Elegant and refined on the palate, the 7 Crus offers terrific length and fine overall balance in a signature expression of Chardonnay. This year’s release is 100% Chardonnay, equal parts 2005 and 2006 vintages. Roughly 25% of the 2005 juice was aged in large neutral oak. As the name implies, the 7 Crus is made from vineyards in the villages of Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergeres les Vertus and Mardeuil. This bottle was disgorged in June, 2009 with dosage of 9 grams per liter. The 7 Crus makes a great introduction to the Agrapart house style. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. 89 Points, Antonio Galloni for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Dec 2009) |
