Appearance: Tawny amber with a thick haze, powdery and pillowy head sticks all over the glass. Smell: Ripe banana with a cake like sweetness ... mild spicy note in the nose also. Taste: Creamy, smooth and crisp with a medium bodied that leans towards a chewy malt mouth feel. Bready malt sweetness from the wheat malt with a touch of caramel and ripe fruit (mostly banana). Subtle spicy flavours mingle with a light hop bitterness which merely tames the malt. Mild clove spiciness, good dose of fruity esters and a ghost like buttery diacetyl just add to the complexities. Some nutty yeast and a faint light chocolate flavour are also present. Clean palate with a even cleaner finish. A very tasty Dunkelweizen ... on par for style and a sure thing for any traditional wheat beer lover. Lots of flavours going around to satisfy all of your taste buds.
