Golden amber color. Honeycomb, spicy custard, and mossy bark aromas with a supple dryish medium body and a warming dried flower, brown spice, pepper and mineral accented finish. A soft, feminine, elegantly styled single malt.

Similar in flavor to the Aberfeldy 12 reviewed below, but with more depth. There’s more orange rind in the marmalade notes, along with Clementine and coconut. The whisky finishes drier too, with a spicy flair. Still quite clean and nicely balanced throughout. A whisky for those of you who want a fun whisky that’s not heavy on the palate.

Initial sniffings detect tart, yeasty aromas of barley malt and bread dough. Palate entry is off-dry and a touch bittersweet in caramel; at midpalate, the taste profile tends to the toasted cereal and toasted bread side of the scale. Finishes gracefully, dry, tart, crisp and clean.
