"(88% grenache, 6% mourvedre, 3% syrah, 2% counoise and 1% roussanne) Dark red. Strikingly fresh and pure bouquet of strawberry, raspberry and dried flowers; smells like pinot noir. Clean and brisk, with a silky texture, sweet red berry flavors and soft tannins. Becomes chewier on the finish but maintains admirable finesse and clarity, closing with tangy mineral lift. Pretty suave stuff." 92 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/Jun 08
"(75% grenache, 14% syrah, 10% mourvedre and 1% roussanne) Dark red. Vibrant red berry and cherry aromas, with suave Asian spice and mineral accents. This is almost pinot-like in its clarity and brightness, and reminded me of a Dujac wine. Very spicy raspberry and strawberry flavors show a distinct peppery quality, with excellent lift and palate coverage. A hint of fresh wasabi on the finish adds energy and cut. There's real finesse here." 92 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/Jun 07 |
