The 2006 Reserve Shiraz has a very deep garnet-purple color and predominately earthy aromas with notes of tar, black truffles, game and underbrush over dried plums and warm blackberry. Spice box and fresh pipe-tobacco notes emerge after a few moments. The palate leads with structure, displaying a medium to high level of grainy tannins and crisp acidity supporting the concentrated fruit. The finish is long with layers of lingering earth and spice notes. Drinking now, it should continue to shine until 2018+. 92 points, Lisa Perotti-Brown for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #192 (DEC 2010)
