This 40-year-old, 7.5 acre vineyard, not far from Angelus and Beausejour-Duffau, is planted with equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc. There are 830 cases of this 65% Merlot/35% Cabernet Franc blend fashioned from yields of 25 hectoliters per hectare. It offers a dark ruby color, a sweet but monolithic nose of scorched earth, chocolate, dried herbs, black currants, and figs, medium body, low acidity, a soft, round, hedonistic, plush personality, and a slightly diffuse finish. Drink it over the next decade. 90 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #164 (Apr 2006)
